Take Tri Town Today with you. The Tri Town Today Tour is a quick, laid-back way to catch up on what’s happening around the Tri Towns while you’re on the go.
Three mornings a week, Jesse and Cole walk you through the latest local stories. Listen on your drive, while running errands, at the gym, walking the dog or wherever your day takes you.
New episodes arrive Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings on Spotify and soon on Apple.
One heads-up: Jesse and Cole are AI-generated hosts. The voices aren’t real, but the local stories they’re talking about are.

The local treat business has launched Love for Locals, a monthly initiative recognizing the people and businesses who deserve a little extra appreciation.
To nominate someone, visit Tâché Treat Co.'s original Facebook post and leave a comment explaining why they deserve some love. If they have a Facebook account, tag them too.
One winner will be selected to receive a Tâché Treat Co. treat tray or special goodie, with the first winner announced November 1.
It could be a helpful neighbour, a hardworking small business owner or someone who quietly makes a difference.
Sometimes a little recognition can mean a lot.

The pair hosts Between the Benches, bringing fans more than just play-by-play coverage. Their broadcasts include Cubs history, conversations about hockey and interviews with players and team executives, along with a few unexpected discussions along the way.
They also want fans to get involved. Have a question you'd like answered during an upcoming home game broadcast? Send it to [email protected].
Whether you're watching from home or following the team on the road, it's another way to stay connected with the New Liskeard Cubs.

Latchford Plans Its Future

Pic Credit: Corporation of the Town of Latchford
Some things in Latchford have stayed wonderfully the same for decades. Its Official Plan shouldn't be one of them.
That planning blueprint dates back to 1981. Since then, 45 years of provincial policy changes, new housing pressures and shifting community needs have moved on without it. The town says an outdated plan is more than a dusty document. It is a real barrier to the new businesses, homes and development Latchford needs.
Ontario's Planning Act requires municipalities to keep their official plans current and consistent with provincial policy. A modern one would make Latchford more investment-ready and lay out a clear vision for the community's future, while keeping Latchford the charming lakeside community it has always been.
And it will not cost taxpayers a new levy. The project is funded from the town's Working Capital Reserve, and because Latchford belongs to the Temiskaming Municipal Services Association, the town will not need to hire an outside planner once the plan is finished.
Residents get their first look next Tuesday. Representatives from Fotenn Planning + Design will be at Latchford Community Hall on Tuesday, October 13 at 6:00 PM to introduce the project and explain how locals can take part.
Come learn about the process, and help shape what Latchford looks like next.
Jo's Tree Service Gives $2,150

Pic Credit: Temiskaming Hospital Foundation
Some jobs end with a bill. Jo's end with a donation.
Jo's Tree Service stopped by the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation on Wednesday morning with a cheque for $2,150, raised through the company's Chipping For Care campaign.
The idea is simple: a portion of every tree service job Jo takes on goes straight to local healthcare.
So the next time you see the crew chipping brush around town, part of that work is helping keep care close to home.
Good on Jo, and good on every customer whose job helped fill that cheque.
