Haileybury Legion Planning 2076 Time Capsule

What should people in Haileybury know about life in our community today when they look back 50 years from now?
Branch 54 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Haileybury is asking residents to help answer that question as it prepares a new community time capsule to be buried in September 2026 and opened in 2076.
The Legion is looking for ideas about what should be included to represent Haileybury and the surrounding community in 2026. Residents who have a physical item they believe has historical or community significance are also encouraged to reach out about contributing it to the capsule.
Photos, local stories, community memorabilia and items reflecting everyday life today are among the kinds of things residents may want to consider.
The Legion is inviting the community to share suggestions on their Facebook post and help create a snapshot of 2026 for a future generation to discover 50 years from now.
We’re always looking to highlight local business, events and stories in the area. If you would like a spotlight on your business then Apply Here.
