Temiskaming Shores Residents Asked to Help Shape Future Community Plans

Temiskaming Shores residents are being encouraged to take part in a new community survey aimed at helping guide future programs, services, and local initiatives.

City officials say the Resident Survey is an opportunity for community members to share feedback and help influence decisions that impact everyday life in Temiskaming Shores.

The survey asks residents for their thoughts on local priorities and community needs, with organizers encouraging as many people as possible to participate.

In smaller communities, surveys like this can play an important role because they help local governments better understand what residents want to see improved, expanded, or prioritized in the years ahead.

Residents can complete the survey here:

Englehart Youth Invited to Grow Their Own Gardens This Summer

Englehart and District Horticultural Society is once again encouraging local youth to dig into gardening with the return of its Junior Garden Competition for 2026.

The competition is open to students from kindergarten through high school who live within 20 kilometres of Englehart. Participants are invited to grow and care for their own garden or a personal section of a larger garden throughout the summer.

Gardens will be judged at the beginning of August, with organizers contacting participants ahead of time to arrange visits.

Beyond the prizes, the competition gives young people a chance to learn responsibility, patience, and the reward of growing something themselves from the ground up.

To register, participants can text their name, grade, address, and phone number to 705-622-3006.
