Fresh Finds Return To Civic Park

Pic Credit: KirklandLake.ca
After a long northern winter, one of the surest signs of summer is the return of market season.
On Tuesday afternoon, Civic Park will once again fill with local growers, bakers, makers, and food producers as the Kirkland Lake Food & Artisan Market opens its 2026 season.
Visitors can browse everything from fresh produce and homemade treats to handcrafted décor, candles, woodworking, bath products, and locally made gifts. The market also features a mini farmers theme this week: "Ready, Set, Plant, Grow."
For many residents, the market is about more than shopping. It's a chance to reconnect with neighbours, discover new local businesses, and see what local creators have been working on over the winter months.
The market runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Civic Park and features a mix of returning favourites and first-time vendors.

Temiskaming Shores’ Joey Chestnut?

Pic Credit: Riverside Farmer’s Market
Every July, thousands gather at New York's famous Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island to watch competitors consume an almost unbelievable number of hot dogs.
On June 20, Riverside Farmers’ Market will be looking for a local champion of its own.
The market is hosting a Father’s Day Hot Dog Eating Contest sponsored by Blue Cherry Market Kitchen, with competitors battling for bragging rights, a prize, and perhaps a place in local hot dog history.
The contest begins at 11:00 a.m. beside the Blue Cherry Market Kitchen tent in front of Riverside Place. Participation is free, and the hot dogs will be supplied by Blue Cherry Market Kitchen.
Organizers are asking contestants to pre-register so they can make sure enough hot dogs are ready for everyone brave enough to take on the challenge.
To register, send a message to the Riverside Farmers’ Market on Facebook or email [email protected].
The only question remaining: does Temiskaming Shores have it’s own Joey Chestnut waiting to be discovered? 🌭🏆
