Lunch Sponsorship Supports Manor Residents

A $175 spot on a lunch bag is one way local supporters can help Northdale Manor provide extras for its residents.
The Manor is making a final call for sponsors for its 15th annual Hearty Temiskaming Lunch. Only side-of-the-bag sponsorships remain, priced at $175 each, with a deadline of Friday, October 30.
Northdale says fundraising events help pay for improvements and amenities for residents. Past fundraising has supported purchases such as an emergency generator and outdoor projects.
Businesses or residents interested in sponsoring can email [email protected].
The annual lunch brings the community together while helping support the people who call Northdale Manor home.

Community Giving Reaches Local Groups

Donations to the Temiskaming Foundation are reaching organizations across the district, with more than $49,750 awarded in its latest community granting cycle, according to the foundation's October 27 announcement.
The recipients span health care, education, arts, sports and local services. They include Blanche River Health, Englehart High School, Temiskaming Art Gallery, Northern Cobalt Pantry and Royal Canadian Legion branches 54 and 629.

Four granting funds are represented in the announcement: the Community Fund, For Kids Sake Fund, Englehart & Area Community Fund and Historic Cobalt Legacy Fund.
The Cobalt Mining Museum appears among recipients of three funds, while Englehart High School is listed under both the Community Fund and Englehart & Area Community Fund.
The foundation thanked the donors behind the funding. It did not provide a breakdown of individual grant amounts or say how each recipient will use the money.
