Expect Delays Sunday

If you're travelling through Cobalt on Sunday afternoon, you may want to leave a little earlier.

Traffic on Highway 11B will be limited between approximately 1:10 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on July 5 as the Celebrate Canada Parade makes its way through town as part of the New Liskeard Bikers Reunion.

The temporary traffic restrictions will allow motorcycles, antique vehicles, parade participants, and spectators to move safely along the parade route. The Cobalt Fire Department will assist with traffic control, and motorists should expect short delays during the event.

With thousands of visitors expected throughout the Bikers Reunion weekend, Sunday's parade is one of the largest attractions and will bring increased traffic to both Cobalt and Temiskaming Shores.

If you're planning to travel through the area Sunday afternoon, consider adjusting your route or timing and follow directions from emergency services and traffic control personnel.

Check Your Tax Account

Most homeowners only think about their property taxes when the bill arrives. The City of Temiskaming Shores is reminding residents that they can now check their property tax account online whenever it's convenient.

Through the City's Online Services portal, property owners can securely review their tax account from home, eliminating the need to wait for office hours or make a phone call for routine account information.

The online portal is designed to give residents quick access to their property tax information at any time, making it easier to stay on top of balances and account details throughout the year.

For homeowners who like to keep track of their finances or confirm a payment has been received, it's another option that can save time.

Visit the City's Online Services portal to review your property tax account securely online.

Splash Pad Repair Nears

Pic Credit: The Town of Cobalt

There's some encouraging news for families waiting for Cobalt's splash pad to reopen.

The Town says the parts needed to repair the splash pad have now been secured by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) and are expected to arrive at the repair company next week. While a reopening date hasn't been confirmed, getting the replacement parts is an important step toward bringing the popular summer attraction back into service.

The splash pad has been closed because of mechanical issues, leaving many families looking for other ways to cool off during the recent stretch of warm weather.

Town staff say they'll share another update once the repair has been scheduled and a reopening date is known.

If you've been waiting to visit the splash pad this summer, keep an eye on the Town of Cobalt's updates for the latest information.
