Baker Avenue Reopens

Drivers will have an easier route through one of Temiskaming Shores' busiest construction projects starting Wednesday.
The City says the Baker Avenue detour connection will officially reopen to traffic on July 15 as work continues on the McKelvie and Baker Infrastructure Project.
Opening the connection is expected to improve traffic flow through the area and provide better access while crews continue construction along McKelvie Avenue and Byam Street.
Motorists should remember that the area remains an active construction zone. Traffic barrels will continue to guide vehicles around work areas, and drivers are being asked to slow down, obey the 50 km/h speed limit, and watch for construction workers, equipment, and changing road conditions.
The City is also reminding motorists to follow all posted signs and traffic control devices as work progresses.
While the project isn't finished yet, reopening the Baker Avenue connection marks another step toward improving traffic movement through the construction area as infrastructure upgrades continue.
Splash Pad Reopens Early

Just in time for this week's heat wave, the Rotary Splash Pad is back in operation.
The City of Temiskaming Shores says repairs have been completed and the splash pad has reopened to the public earlier than originally expected after the City expedited shipping and repairs.
The timing comes as temperatures climb across the region, giving local families another place to cool off during the hot weather.
City staff will continue monitoring the splash pad over the next several days to ensure everything is operating as expected.
If you've been looking for a way to help the kids beat the heat, the splash pad is once again ready for action.

🚱 Water Disruption and Road Closure
Residents on Paget Street North and Dymond Street in New Liskeard may experience a temporary water service disruption from 7:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday due to water service repairs.
Paget Street North will also be closed between Whitewood Avenue and Spruce Avenue, with work expected to take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Residents may experience low water pressure, discoloured water or no water during the repair.
❄️ Escape the Heat at Temiskaming Shores Library
The Temiskaming Shores Library is welcoming anyone looking for a cool, air-conditioned place to escape the heat wave. Visitors can relax, read, or simply take a break from the heat during regular library hours.
The library is open Monday and Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
