Gingerbread Christmas at Northdale

Pic Credit: Northdale Manor
Christmas arrives early at Riverside Place.
Northdale Manor's Gingerbread Christmas is back on Thursday, November 5. This year the whole evening is built around giving: a silent and live auction, an attendance draw, and 100 gifts for $20 a ticket. Doors open at 6 PM, and the $15 admission includes snackies.
Northdale is a not-for-profit retirement home, and nights like this are how it keeps life good for its residents. Every ticket and every bid supports the programs, services and small improvements that make the place feel like home.
Put your bidding arm on. It should be a good night.

Rotary Brings Generations Together

Pic Credit: Rotary District 7010
Students from Kirkland Lake and Englehart shared their leadership experiences while international exchange students from Chile and Denmark joined local Rotary members for a special gathering in Earlton recently.
The Rotary Clubs of Englehart and Temiskaming Shores and Area joined forces to welcome Rotary District 7010 Governor Drew Markham and Assistant District Governor Erin Buchmann.
The evening included a buffet dinner, presentations from students who attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program and an opportunity to meet two international exchange students, Alice and Ella.
Markham also spoke about Rotary District 7010 and the work of its committees, giving members a closer look at the organization's activities beyond their local clubs.
Club presidents Johanna and Christina helped organize the joint gathering, which brought together the 43rd and 44th clubs on Markham's district tour.
The evening highlighted how Rotary connects local volunteers, young leaders and people from different countries through community service and shared experiences.
Soup and Bread for Kerns

Families who need food support through the Community Fridge can call Candace at the school or contact principal Shannon Sayeau at 705-676-6587. The school office can also be reached at 705-647-0225.
The donation adds to an ongoing community effort to make food available to families connected with the school.
