McGarry Library Seeds Fundraiser

The McGarry Public Library is hoping a small package of seeds could eventually create something pretty spectacular.

As part of its Growing Our Community Together autumn fundraiser, the library distributed Russell Hybrid Mix lupine seeds and is encouraging residents to get planting.

The idea has now grown beyond individual gardens. Residents are being asked to suggest a spot in Virginiatown, North Virginiatown or Kearns where people without their own planting space could scatter their seeds together.

If enough lupines take hold in one location, organizers hope it could develop into a large colourful display over the next few years, similar to the lupines people enjoy along the highway toward Kirkland Lake.

Have a good location in mind? The library is asking residents to share their ideas on their facebook post.
