Cupid’s Heart with Brando - Cobalt Miner’s Tavern | 8:00 PM | Hear local musician Brando open for Cupid’s Heart as the trio brings its Lost in the Woods Tour to Cobalt. Ages 19+. Admission by donation.
Aug 28th
Adult Murder Mystery - Cobalt Public Library | 6:00 PM | Put your detective skills to the test during an evening mystery where everyone is a suspect. Admission: $10. Registration required by August 27

Cam’s Walk for Overdose Awareness - Haileybury Tennis Court | Sign-in 10:30 AM, Walk 11:00 AM | Walk in memory of Cameron Metson-Stewart and others impacted by substance use and overdose, followed by remembrance activities and community resources. Free.
Summer Paw-Looza - Haileybury Harbour Place | 11:00 AM-6:00 PM | Bring the family and your pup for a dog splash park, agility activities, lawn games, vendors, music, face painting and a barbecue. Free admission; activities by donation.
End of Summer Hooley - Whiskeyjack Beer Company | 8:30 PM | Sing along with Paddyman during an evening of lively Irish music and laughs. Tickets: $25.

O.T.H. Trail Hike - Friday Lake to Johnson Lake | Meet 8:00 AM in New Liskeard | Hike 7 to 17 km along the O.T.H. Trail, with a shorter turnaround option at the sugar shack. Carpooling available.
Vibe Studio Open House - 7 Riverside Dr., New Liskeard | 10:00 AM | Try a free 45-minute introduction to overhead resistance band training, with instructors breaking down the workout and guiding participants through a few movements. Registration required.

Meet Earlton’s Firefighters

Families are invited to spend an evening with local firefighters tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26, during a free EarlyON family activity in Earlton.
The event runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Centre de santé communautaire du Témiskaming (CSCT) and will give children a chance to meet the firefighters, see the fire trucks up close and take part in firefighter-themed activities.
The event is part of EarlyON programming, which brings children, parents and caregivers together for opportunities to learn, play and connect.
The activity is free and everyone is welcome.

Water Disruption Tuesday

Residents on Sutcliffe Crescent in New Liskeard should be prepared for a temporary water service disruption tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25, while City crews complete a water service repair.
Water is expected to be shut off from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As part of the work, Sutcliffe Avenue between Regina Street and Jayne Street will be closed to traffic. Work is expected to take place from approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents in the affected area may want to set aside any water they'll need before the shutdown begins Tuesday morning.

🧩 Puzzle Exchange Coming to the Library
The Temiskaming Shores Public Library is collecting gently used, complete puzzles from August 31 to September 19 for an upcoming community Puzzle Exchange. For every accepted puzzle, donors will receive one voucher, with a limit of five puzzles per household.
Puzzle Swap Day is Saturday, September 26, with voucher holders choosing puzzles from noon to 2 p.m. The exchange opens to everyone from 2 to 3 p.m., when remaining puzzles can be picked up without a voucher.
🐱 Cat Found in New Liskeard
A friendly, neutered male black cat was found on Pine Avenue in New Liskeard on Wednesday, August 19 and is currently being cared for at the City of Temiskaming Shores Animal Pound.
The cat was not wearing a collar and does not have a microchip. Anyone who believes this may be their cat is asked to contact Animal Control at 705-672-3363 ext. 4134 as soon as possible.
🛒 Win Groceries & Gas
CJTT 104.5 FM is giving away $1,000 in groceries and $500 in gas, with prizes provided by Yves’ Prime Cut Meats, Breault Family Farm, Leis Landscaping Yard & Country Store and Earlton Timber Mart.
Enter by filling out a ballot at participating businesses for a chance to win the grand prize. Several businesses are also offering additional door prizes, including gift cards, a barbecue, patio chairs, an area rug and more.
💻 Digital Literacy Sessions
The Temiskaming Shores Public Library offers Digital Literacy Sessions on Thursdays by appointment for anyone looking for help using a smartphone, tablet or laptop.
Residents can get one-on-one assistance and learn more about using their devices. To book a session or get more information, call 705-647-4215.
🎯 Washer League Meeting
Anyone interested in joining a Washer League is invited to an information meeting at Coeur du Village in Earlton on Tuesday, September 8 at 7 p.m.
The meeting will discuss plans for the league, and everyone interested in playing is welcome to attend.
🥩 Butchers Raffle Tickets Available
The New Liskeard Lions Club is selling tickets for its Butchers Raffle, with proceeds supporting Northern Hospice Care.
Tickets are $10 for a chance to win the grand prize of a hind quarter of beef from Yves Prime Cuts with a freezer from The Brick, or the second prize of a side of pork from Yves Prime Cuts. Tickets will be available at at Walmart on August 27.
🎉 Branch 54 Centennial Volunteers Celebration
The Branch 54 Haileybury Legion is inviting everyone who volunteered during its 100th anniversary celebrations to a special appreciation gathering at The Miners Tavern, 75 Lang Street in Cobalt, on Sunday, August 30 at 6 p.m.
The evening is a chance to celebrate the volunteers, teamwork and community effort that helped make the Legion's Centennial celebrations possible. Volunteers are asked to RSVP by commenting on the original Facebook post.
