Local Artists Find New Home

If you’ve driven past the Chamber a hundred times, you might not realize one of the area’s newest places to shop local is waiting inside. The Temiskaming Shores & Area Chamber of Commerce has opened a new gift shop dedicated to showcasing the work of local artists, makers, and craftspeople.

Located inside the Chamber office on Highway 65 beside the Cow, the shop features a growing collection of handcrafted jewellery, artwork, woodwork, crochet creations, prints, home décor, and other unique gifts created by local vendors.
The Chamber hopes the space will give residents a place to shop local, visitors a chance to take home something uniquely Temiskaming, and local businesses another option for finding distinctive gifts and décor.

Current vendors include Silver & Stones, Jeannie’s Electric Soul, Handmade with Heart Beading, Mikrolink Computers, MarSci Crochet, INKit Design and Print, Paintings by Mona, François Gauthier, Little Creek, Reflection in Stones, and Spring Bloom Acres.
The gift shop is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Chamber is also inviting additional local artists and craftspeople interested in selling their work to get in touch. If you’re interested in having your works for sale, please contact Carrie Graham ([email protected]), call the TSACC office (705-647-5771), or stop in during opening hours.
We’re always looking to highlight local business, events and stories in the area. If you would like a spotlight on your business then Apply Here.

Your Voice Matters In New Regional Survey

Whether you work in mining, own a local business, or simply call the region home, here's an opportunity to help shape future planning around one of Northern Ontario's largest employers.
Alamos Gold's Young-Davidson Mine has launched a community survey as part of a Social Economic Baseline Study examining the mine's impact on Matachewan, Kirkland Lake, First Nation communities, and neighbouring communities across the Timiskaming District. The study is being conducted by N1 Strategy Inc. on behalf of the mine.
The survey is designed to gather feedback from residents, businesses, and community stakeholders about how the mine influences the region. The findings will help inform future planning and ensure local perspectives are considered as Young-Davidson Mine continues its operations.
Mining has long been part of Northern Ontario's story, bringing jobs, investment, and opportunities while also creating challenges and questions for the communities around it. Whether your experience has been positive, negative, or somewhere in between, this survey is an opportunity to make your voice heard.
The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and is open to anyone who wants to share their perspective.
