Horseback Riding Through the Corn

Aidie Creek Gardens is wrapping up its Fall Fun season with a special day for horseback riders on Sunday, November 1.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., riders can bring their horses through the corn maze as many times as they like. Admission is $10 per person.

Only mounted riders and their horses may enter the maze. Helmets are required for riders under 18 and strongly encouraged for everyone else. Parents, instructors and helpers may assist with preparing horses, but other visitors cannot wander through the property.

Campfires and portable toilets will be available, but the other Fall Fun activities will be closed. Riders should bring their own water buckets. A barrel for filling buckets may be available, weather permitting.

Visitors should follow the signs to the Fall Fun Days parking area and get their horses ready before heading to the entrance.

Legion Award Recognizes Many Hands

A community organization doesn't keep going on its own. Behind the scenes are people giving their time, sharing responsibilities and working together.

That makes the latest recognition for Haileybury's Royal Canadian Legion Branch 54 especially meaningful.

The branch received the Non-Profit Organization Award at the Temiskaming Chamber of Commerce awards gala on Thursday, October 22.

Branch 54 was nominated alongside Keepers of the Circle and the New Liskeard Lions Club.

In sharing the news, the Legion thanked its president, executive, members, volunteers and the wider community.

While the award carries the Legion's name, the recognition reflects the collective effort of the people who help keep it an active part of Haileybury.

🍬 Halloween Treat Drive in Latchford

Want to hand out treats this Halloween but cannot be at the door? The Latchford Fire Department is accepting candy and treat donations. Drop them off at the fire department today, Saturday, Oct. 24, between 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
