Boil Water Advisory for Englehart

Pic Credit: The Corporation of the Township of Evanturel
Residents served by the Englehart drinking water system are being advised to boil their tap water following a new advisory issued Thursday, October 15.
The Ontario Clean Water Agency says the advisory affects the entire town of Englehart. Residents in Evanturel who receive water from the Englehart system are also affected.
All tap water must be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before being used for drinking, cooking, washing food, brushing teeth, preparing baby formula or making ice. Bottled water is another option.
Tap water can still be used for showers and baths, but it should not be swallowed. Young children should be given sponge baths instead.
For dishes, use a dishwasher's high-temperature or sanitize cycle. Dishes washed by hand should be rinsed in hot, soapy water and sanitized according to the advisory.
Residents will be notified when the water is safe to drink again.
For more information, contact the Town of Englehart at 705-544-2244 or the Northeastern Public Health Unit at 1-877-442-1212.
