Floor Curling Hits Haileybury

Curling without the ice — and without the bending.
The City of Temiskaming Shores is launching floor curling this fall, a new program aimed at older adults who want to stay active, learn a new sport, and meet people. It's played on a gym floor instead of ice, and pusher sticks let you deliver stones without bending down to floor level. The pitch: better flexibility, range of motion, and circulation, minus the cold rink.
It runs every Monday, 10 AM to noon, at the Shelley Herbert-Shea Memorial Arena in Haileybury, starting October 19th — through the fall and winter, holidays excluded. Registration is required — contact Alex at [email protected] or 705-647-5709.
