A Local Cleaning Business Built Around Making Life Less Stressful

Pic Credit: Shays Cleaning
There’s a certain feeling that comes after a space has finally been cleaned properly.
Not just tidied up for appearances, but actually cleaned.
The counters are clear. The floors feel fresh under your feet. The air even seems different somehow. For a moment, the house feels quieter. Less stressful. Easier to breathe in.
For a lot of people, getting to that point is easier said than done.
Between work, kids, errands, and trying to keep up with everyday life, cleaning often becomes one more thing pushed to the bottom of the list. That’s part of what led Shay’s Cleaning Services to start serving Temiskaming Shores and the surrounding area.
Based out of New Liskeard, Shay’s Cleaning Services offers residential and commercial cleaning, along with move-in and move-out cleans, deep cleans, and post-construction cleanup.
The business was started from a simple idea: helping people feel more comfortable and less stressed in their homes and workplaces.
“I’ve always had a passion for helping people feel comfortable and stress-free in their homes,” owner Shayla Wilks shared. “I decided to turn that passion into a business so I could help busy families and businesses maintain clean, welcoming spaces they can enjoy.”
That mindset carries through in the way the business approaches its work. The focus is on reliability, attention to detail, and treating each home or business with care.
“What sets Shay’s Cleaning Services apart is our attention to detail, reliability, and personalized service,” Shayla said. “We treat every home and business with care and tailor each clean to our clients’ specific needs.”
The business is fully insured and currently offers recurring residential and commercial cleaning services throughout the area.
Shay’s Cleaning Services is also running giveaways through its Facebook page featuring cleaning products, gift baskets, and local goodies, along with a promotion offering new clients $20 off their first clean when booking recurring services.
For people trying to stay on top of busy schedules, sometimes having one less thing to worry about can make a bigger difference than expected.

Chamber Invites Local Makers to Sell Products Through Tourism Centre Gift Shop
Local artists, makers, and small businesses in the Temiskaming region are being invited to showcase and sell their products through a new initiative launched by the Temiskaming Shores and Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber and Tourism Information Centre are now accepting submissions from vendors interested in supplying locally made products for sale in the tourism gift shop. Organizers say the goal is to create more visibility for local creators while also giving visitors a chance to discover products that reflect the region’s culture and community.
Items selected for the shop will be sold on commission, helping support both local businesses and Chamber operations.
The opportunity is open to creators offering products that are locally made, tourism related, or connected to the character of the Temiskaming area. Chamber membership is not required to apply, although members in good standing will be given priority consideration.
Applicants are being asked to provide details about their products, including pricing, quantity available, and a description of the items.
As tourism season begins to pick up, the initiative offers another way for local businesses and creators to place their work in front of both residents and visitors exploring the region.
Anyone interested in applying or learning more can contact the Chamber directly by emailing [email protected]
with the subject line “Tourism Vendor.”
