Three days of livestock shows, agricultural competitions, exhibits, local entertainment and longtime traditions are coming to the New Liskeard Fairgrounds. Here’s your day-by-day guide to the 2026 New Liskeard Fall Fair, September 17–19.

Thursday, September 17
Opening day brings the horse show, exhibits and entertainment before the evening's opening ceremonies, Harvest Queen Talent Show and Heavy Horse Pull.
12 p.m. — Horse Show Division 1 Halter Classes, Main Ring
1 p.m. — Adrian Faulkner / The Dodds Sisters
1:30 p.m. — Dan & Friends
2:30 p.m. — The Country Starlite
3 p.m. — Step It Up - Temiskaming Line Dance
4 p.m. — Recall

Throughout the day, visitors can also explore the fair's agricultural, horticultural, homecraft, junior and school exhibits. The fair's livestock program includes draft and light horses, cattle, dairy, sheep, goats, poultry and small animals.

Friday puts young fairgoers in the spotlight with the traditional Kids' Parade, while the agricultural side of the fair continues with horse, dairy and sheep competitions. The evening brings Western Games and the Harvest Queen finals.

Artists Wanted for TAG Fundraiser

The Temiskaming Art Gallery is looking for 17 artists to help turn old windows into one-of-a-kind works of art.
The project, called Windows for the World, will provide each participating artist with an old window supplied by TAG. Artists will then create their own unique painted design on the glass as part of an upcoming gallery fundraiser.
The example shared by TAG shows how each pane can become its own little canvas, with the finished window transformed into a larger piece of art.

Explore Your Options at Local Job Fair

Job seekers will have a chance to meet dozens of employers face-to-face when the Explore Your Options Job Fair comes to Temiskaming Shores on Thursday, September 24.
The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Horne Granite Curling Club, with more than 40 employers and organizations expected to participate.
The lineup covers a wide range of industries and careers, including mining, health care, education, skilled trades, transportation, social services, government and manufacturing. Participants include Alamos Gold – Young-Davidson Mine, Ontario Northland, Temiskaming Hospital, Canada Revenue Agency, Timmins Police Service, The Miller Group, Georgia Pacific, Electra Battery Materials and many others.
The event isn't only for people actively looking for a job. Visitors can also learn about career options, training opportunities, employment services and community resources available in the region.
Job seekers who want some help preparing can stop by Community Employment Services at 290 Armstrong Street in New Liskeard for assistance updating their resume and one-on-one guidance ahead of the fair.
Explore Your Options takes place September 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Horne Granite Curling Club in Temiskaming Shores.
💧 Temagami Water System Flushing
The Ontario Clean Water Agency will conduct routine flushing of Temagami’s municipal water system, with revised dates of September 21 to 25 for Temagami South and September 28 to October 2 for Temagami North.
Residents may experience temporary water discolouration, rust or sediment, and reduced water pressure during the work. Once flushing is complete, run a cold-water tap with the aerator removed until the water runs clear.
🧩 Puzzle Exchange Coming to the Library
The Temiskaming Shores Public Library is collecting gently used, complete puzzles from August 31 to September 19 for an upcoming community Puzzle Exchange. For every accepted puzzle, donors will receive one voucher, with a limit of five puzzles per household.
Puzzle Swap Day is Saturday, September 26, with voucher holders choosing puzzles from noon to 2 p.m. The exchange opens to everyone from 2 to 3 p.m., when remaining puzzles can be picked up without a voucher.
💻 Digital Literacy Sessions
The Temiskaming Shores Public Library offers Digital Literacy Sessions on Thursdays by appointment for anyone looking for help using a smartphone, tablet or laptop.
Residents can get one-on-one assistance and learn more about using their devices. To book a session or get more information, call 705-647-4215.
