$2 Million For Kirkland Lake
Betty Casino presented an extraordinary $2,001,808.20 donation to 15 organizations across Kirkland Lake on June 19, creating a major investment in local sports, arts, emergency services, faith groups, and community programs.
Hosted by Wanda Laferriere, the event celebrated the volunteers, organizations, and community leaders who work year-round to strengthen the community. The funding will support a wide range of local initiatives, from youth sports and emergency services to arts, faith groups, and mental health programs.
Among the recipients are the Royal Canadian Legion, Canadian Mental Health Association, Save The LaSalle Theatre, Kirkland Lake Soccer Association, Swamp Donkeys Mile of Gold Basketball, the Kirkland Lake Skating Club, Kirkland Lake Aquatic Club, King Lebel Volunteer Fire Department, Red Fox Air Cadets, Friends of Trinity United Church, Paroisse Assomption, Knights of Columbus, Doric Lodge #623, Junior Curling, and the Game & Fish Protective Association.
The contribution represents one of the largest recent investments in Kirkland Lake's volunteer organizations and will help fund programs and services that touch residents of all ages.
While each organization serves a different purpose, they all share one thing in common: dedicated volunteers working to make Kirkland Lake a stronger community.
