Ms. Claybelt's Scarf Is Missing — Have You Seen It?

Pic Credit: Little Claybelt Homesteaders Museum
If you've driven past the Little Claybelt Homesteaders Museum on Highway 65 in New Liskeard, you know Ms. Claybelt — the beloved Holstein cow statue that greets visitors at the entrance. Well, she's missing something. Her signature crocheted winter scarf has gone wandering, and the museum is asking the community for help bringing it home. It's a beautiful handmade piece, and Ms. Claybelt just isn't quite herself without it. If you've seen it or know where it might be, contact the museum at 705-647-9575 or reach out on their Facebook page.

Boaters, it's time. The City is now accepting marina slip registrations for the New Liskeard and Haileybury marinas ahead of the 2026 season. If you had a slip last year, your spot is reserved until May 11 — after that, it opens up. This is the first season with the city running both marinas directly (as announced earlier this month), and registration packages and rates are available on the city's marina webpage. Get your name in early if you want your preferred spot.

Browning Street in Haileybury is closed today and tomorrow (April 22–23) between Georgina Ave and Rorke Ave for a sanitary main repair. Work starts at 7:00 AM and will continue until completion. Rorke Ave between Broadway St and Probyn St may also experience some lane closures during that time. If you're heading through that part of Haileybury, plan an alternate route.

Game Coming Soon!
Be On The Look Out!
You’re going to start seeing this guy around.
We call him the Tri Town Guide.

We’re going to be launching a simple game on Facebook called Find the Guide. On certain days we’ll post a photo somewhere around the Tri Town. The Guide will be in that photo. Your job will be to figure out where it is.

You’ll drop your guess in the comment, and every correct answer will count as an entry. We’ll draw a winner each week and feature them in the newsletter. Local businesses will be part of it too, so prizes will come from right here in the community.
It’s meant to be simple. Something quick, something fun, something that makes you look at the tri town area a little differently.
We’re not launching it just yet. We want to build this up properly first. But it’s coming soon.
So for now, just keep an eye out.
Because once the Guide starts showing up, you’ll know it’s time to play.
