Flood Watch in Effect Until April 21 — Rising Water Levels

A Flood Watch is officially in effect for the area until Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 4:00 PM. Water levels and flows are continuing to rise as the spring freshet gets underway. Residents are asked to use caution around all lakes, rivers, creeks, streams, shorelines, and banks. Anyone in low-lying areas or along shorelines should monitor conditions closely and prepare accordingly. Please supervise children and pets near water, and avoid deteriorating lake and river ice. Full notice from the City →

Pete's Dam Closed Due to High Water Flows

The City of Temiskaming Shores has closed Pete's Dam Park due to high water flows from the spring freshet. Barriers and closure signage have been installed at the parking lot entrance. The park will remain closed until water levels return to safe conditions — the City will share updates as they become available. Stay off the site for now and check the City's Facebook page for the all-clear. Full notice →

⚠️Deadline This Friday - Mandatory Ice Hut Removal

All ice huts must be removed from City of Temiskaming Shores property by Friday, April 17, 2026. Affected locations include 20 Whitewood Avenue in New Liskeard and 325 Farr Drive in Haileybury. Any huts remaining after April 17 may be removed at the owner's expense.

Game Coming Soon!

Be On The Look Out!

You’re going to start seeing this guy around.

We call him the Tri Town Guide.

We’re going to be launching a simple daily game on Facebook called Find the Guide. Each day we’ll post a photo somewhere around the Tri Town. The Guide will be in that photo. Your job will be to figure out where it is.

You’ll drop your guess in the comment, and every correct answer will count as an entry. We’ll draw a winner each week and feature them in the newsletter. Local businesses will be part of it too, so prizes will come from right here in the community.

It’s meant to be simple. Something quick, something fun, something that makes you look at the tri town area a little differently.

We’re not launching it just yet. We want to build this up properly first. But it’s coming soon.

So for now, just keep an eye out.

Because once the Guide starts showing up, you’ll know it’s time to play.
