A Quick Thank You From Tri Town Today

When I started Tri Town Today, I honestly didn't know where it would lead.

Producing a daily newsletter has been a bigger undertaking than I originally imagined. Every day brings new events, stories, businesses, athletes, artists, volunteers, and community initiatives to discover. There have been some late nights and early mornings, and I'm still working on streamlining the process.

But it's been worth it.

Over the past few weeks, Tri Town Today has passed two milestones that seemed a long way off when this journey began. We've now published our 50th daily edition and grown to more than 1,100 subscribers.

For a community our size, that's something worth celebrating.

What has surprised me the most is the feedback.

Every few days someone reaches out.

Sometimes it's to say thank you for putting local events in one place.

Sometimes it's because they discovered a business, event, fundraiser, or story they otherwise would have missed.

And sometimes it's simply to say they enjoy reading it.

The more I learn about this area, the more impressed I become.

From local artists and entrepreneurs to athletes representing our region across the province and beyond, there is an incredible amount of talent, heart, and community spirit here.

As Tri Town Today continues to grow, so will our efforts to support the organizations that make this region stronger.

I'm also excited to share that we recently became a member of the Temiskaming Shores and Area Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to working with the Chamber to help amplify their message, support local businesses, and keep residents informed about initiatives that help our region grow and prosper.

We're also preparing to announce a another sponsor, a local charitable organization that recognizes the growing reach of Tri Town Today and the opportunity it provides to connect with the community. As part of that sponsorship, we'll be giving away a $100 gift certificate, with full details coming soon.

For now, I just want to say thank you.

Thank you for subscribing.

Thank you for reading.

Thank you for sharing stories, events, and tips.

And thank you for helping make Tri Town Today part of your morning routine.

We're just getting started.

We’re always looking to highlight local business, events and stories in the area. If you would like a spotlight on your business then Apply Here.

If you are a coach of a team that would like to have their team scores and highlight shared with the community please reach out to [email protected] and lets connect.

100 Women, One Hour, Big Impact for Local Organizations

How can a group of women raise thousands of dollars for a local charity in just one hour?

That's the idea behind 100 Women Who Care Temiskaming Shores, a local giving group that meets just four times a year.

The concept is simple. Each member commits to donating $100 per meeting. During a one-hour gathering, members nominate local charities, hear short presentations, and vote on which organization will receive the group's combined donation.

With approximately 100 women contributing $100 each, a local charity can receive around $10,000 from a single meeting.

At the group's May 27 meeting, members selected the Local Food Banks as this quarter's beneficiary.

As food costs continue to rise and demand for assistance grows, the donation will help support local families and individuals throughout the region.

The beauty of the model is its simplicity: 100 women, $100 each, one hour, and a meaningful impact on a local cause every quarter.
